Going to the Chapel....
And we're gonna get married. Going to the chapel of love.
So, at the tail end of the great 30-day birthday present, the beloved birthday book Greg made for me, I had one last envelope to open. It was Greg's, and it came with an engagement ring. I said yes! It was the most special, unforgettable day. We were celebrating our anniversary belatedly, because it was raining on our actual anniversary. Greg wanted to plan a picnic for me, since our first date was a picnic. But the weather hasn't cooperated. Since it poured last night, Greg told me we couldn't picnic, that he'd made reservations at a restaurant near his apartment. Unsuspecting, I arrived at his door to deposit my work bag, only to find he'd turned his apartment into a beautiful French garden. Lilies, mums, daisies, heather, plum branches, floating gardenia, even a lime tree! It was the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen. Candles dressed every single surface, and there was a picnic spread on the blankets that even Emeril would've been excited about. We ate cheese and bread and fruit, drank champagne, talked, ate our delicious picnic lunch, and then talked some more. And then Greg insisted I finish up my book, from a French bistro chair he insisted I sit in for photographs...so it was his page, and because the first three lines brought tears to my eyes I had him read it. And then more tears came, and then Greg, conveniently on his knees, asked me to be his wife.
And now my fiancé and I are going to my place to tell my parents...Life couldn't be better. I'm so thankful! Hope to see you all soon. Until then, check out the photos, which are worth more than a thousand of my humble words.
