Two Days, Two Mountains

Blue skies and sunshine warmed the slopes of Copper Mountain today, softening enough of the ice to make for a nice day of riding. Since they have not had a significant amount of snow here in Breckenridge for over a week, we decided to take advantage of Kelly's comp passes to Copper Mountain. Copper is only 20 minutes away from breck and has plenty of great terrain.

Yesterday, with the help of Kelly, her roommates, and Mountain Wave snowboarding shop, I was able to borrow/rent all the gear needed for a great day on the mountain. I got to Demo a Neversummer board with the new mission toe-strap bindings which made for a pretty sweet ride (although I still prefer my setup best).

We toured the mountain searching for some trace of powder taking runs on peaks 7, 8 and 9. It was great to get back to Peak 7 which, although it may not have the best runs on the mountain holds the most nostalgia of anywhere on the mountain.

After a hard day on the mountain, we retired down to Mi Casa for the best happy hour in town. We got a bunch of dollar tacos, two dollar buckets of wings, a ridiculously heaping plate of free nachos and a round of house margaritas. For old times sake we hit up the hot tub at our old apartment complex for some maxing and relaxing.

My gear arrived finally Thursday afternoon, apparently it was put on a plan to Minneapolis instead of Denver.

I wanted to give a special shout out to Jeff Livak, for not only keeping up with my site, but also offering to loan me snowboarding gear from his parents house down here in Blue River. Check out Jeff's Site, he is a kick ass graphic designer.
